I know we all work hard to be considered beautiful- but what is beauty? Why does beauty have to mean having a tiny waist, flat stomach and skinny legs that won’t touch even when you put them together? I mean really? Whenever I look down on my chicken legs I’m shocked I can even stand up.Shouldn’t it be okay for everyone to feel beautiful just the way they are? In my experience it doesn’t even matter how hard you work out, how healthy you eat or how much you try to change to achieve that one look you’ve been wanting for so long, because most probably you still won’t be happy when you get there. You’ll always find things about yourself you don’t find good enough. That’s how the media haunt us.
Wouldn’t it be better to be able to look in the mirror, no matter what size or shape you are, and just like what you see? To stand up to the people who said you’re not pretty enough? To look away from all those things who tell you how to look?
I promise you- you’re good enough just the way you are. You might not believe me and it might not seem like it right now, but in the end it doesn’t matter what others think. As long as you’re you. Because there’s nothing more attractive than someone who is confident in their own skin, regardless of how they look.
So next time you look yourself in the mirror: erase everything you’ve heard or read about how you “should” look- and SMILE. You are beautiful.
